These events have become the new proving ground for amazing breakthrough maneuvers such as: Ally-oops, Big Spins, Varials, Shuv-its, Gorkin Flips, Air 360's, Double Grabs, Stalefish Grabs, Supermans and more. Airtime is packed with non-stop aerial action, exotic location adventures, in-depth interviews with Eric McHenry (two-time circuit winner), Christian Fletcher (godfather of aerial surfing), Randy "Goose" Welch (big air anytime, anywhere), and the standout talents of today's new youths, Josh Kerr and Geoff Brack. Airtime is your opportunity to experience rarely-seen aerial surfing from around the globe through the camera lenses of the Straight Out team, whose ongoing goal has been to ensure that the progression of surfing gets the notice it deserves.
Airtime locations include:
Steamer Lane. Santa Cruz is a California "surf city" known for its cold water and ability to deliver classic waves. Steamer Lane, a right hand point break, can also create a ramping left under the correct conditions. Here, Josh Sleigh boosts off one of these lefts. Santa Cruz is visited twice during the video.
Sebastian Inlet. Florida's coastline is susceptible to strong wind and dreaded flat spells, but when swells do arrive at Sebastian Inlet they bounce off the jetty producing a fun wedge wave with amazing right hand air sections. Randy "Goose" Welch shows his ability to click big airs anytime, anywhere. Sebastian Inlet is visited twice in the video.
54th and 56th Streets. Newport Beach, California features a coastline packed with perfect peaks up and down the beach. The killer surf found at 54th and 56th streets never fails to allow for some of the most progressive surfing maneuvers. Josh Kerr raises the bar and goes for a back flip. Newport is visited twice during the video.
Salt Creek. Dana Point is one of the most beautiful places in Southern California. Under ideal conditions, Salt Creek delivers a 50-yard long left point break just down the beach from the dumpy beach break of Gravels, known for its right hand launch ramps. Aaron Cormican, the inventor of the "Gorkin Flip" busts a double rail grab.
Playa Hermosa. Located in Central America, Costa Rica shares its warm coastlines with the Pacific Ocean and the breathtaking Caribbean. World-class breaks Witches Rock, Ollies Point, Pavones, and Playa Hermosa can be found on its Pacific side. Eric McHenry gets clearance for his block of Costa Rican Airtime.
